X Studies

These prints express the dichotomies between intention and chance, macro and micro, delicate and distressed.  They suggest aerial views, birds, migration, etc.  They remind one of moss, mold, cells, and bacterial growth. With these comparisons in mind, I am seeking to create moments of contemplation through the degradation of the etching plates and the accumulation of the marks. My mark, the “x”, repeats and coalesces to make forms.  X is the promise of something known or unknown.
